Senior Developer, Delphi / C# / SQL Server / Oracle - Cambridge. A great opportunity to cross-train into C# and .NET within 6-12 months.
Skills - You will be skilled in developing Windows applications using Delphi 4 or above. You will possess solid SQL Server/Oracle database skills including (SQL/stored procedures/triggers etc.). You will have knowledge and experience of software development methodologies, processes and tools together with good general technology knowledge (OO, analysis, data modelling etc.) as well as a desire to keep up-to-date with the latest advances in technology. Other skills on your CV ideally will include Crystal Reports 10, Relational Modelling experience, Assessment Business Domain exposure and the ability to describe a project lifecycle in either waterfall or Agile (XP/Scrum). You will hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in a computing related subject.
Role - You will adopt a Senior role as you take responsibility for designing applications and solutions based on given requirements using appropriate technologies, languages and tools. Your exposure to C# and the .Net environment will be a big asset as these legacy systems will be moved across within 6-12 months to these latter Microsoft technologies. You will also produce automated Unit/integration tests during development and support system testing in conjunction with interested parties. You will also be responsible for giving technical and business support to customers, helpdesk, Data Centre and other IM personnel in order to meet business and operational needs.
