One of the industries largest blue-chip companies requires a strong UNIX Infrastructure Engineer.
It would be necessary for the sucessful individual to stabilise and improve the companies systems and so this will incorporate but not be limited to the follwing high level tasks:
• Creation of flow diagram for troubleshooting
• Automation of hardware & software monitoring for 2nd line support
• Extend Tivoli
• Ensure programs runs on more than one PL server removing single point of failure
• Automate the output of programs into Tivoli, and then into automated monitoring
• Enable TWISM (application performance tool) or equivalent Cisco tool to run on
programs or systems every 5 minutes
• SUN patch required for LDAP – longer upgrade LDAP server version
• SSL certificate monitoring – process required (annual process)
• Re-enable Capacity Management and understand if fit for purpose
• Understand number of LDAP users and housekeeping process
• Supportability – verify current version models on all hardware
• Get all hardware statistics and analysis on all hardware including the elements that EMT uses
• Commission extra Access Servers for EMT to utilise unused PPD replicas
• Ensure 2nd level Support is able to resolve the issue and then send to 3rd party for root cause
• Architecture review on hardware and Access Servers
In addition, to work with 3rd party to provide the following;
• Re-index the PPD Master and replicas – and monitor index
• Understand head room within systems to identify breakpoint
In addition, to work with end client to provide input to the following tasks;
• Improve access to technical documentation and communication between resolver groups
• Produce Support RACI
• Understand number of LDAP users
